Bruno Fernandes praised Manchester United's character after they came from behind to beat Sheffield United on Wednesday night.
After a tough FA Cup semi-final last weekend where they dropped three points, United found themselves 2-1 down at the bottom of the league in the second half, even though they were in the lead in the first half.
Harry Maguire leveled the scores in the first half, before the Portuguese scored twice, with Rasmus Hojlund adding a fourth to lift United up to sixth, three points ahead of seventh-placed Newcastle.
Fernandes praises the character of Manchester United
The 29-year-old has 15 goals this season, 10 of which have come in the Premier League and has been the Red Devils' go-to man this campaign.
The Portuguese admitted after the game that United put themselves in a difficult position to win the games but praised the teams' morale.
“We talk about clean sheets all the time and we want to keep them. Credit to Sheffield United”, said Fernandes in quotes taken by Mail Sport.
“Finally we came back. We have put ourselves in a position where it is difficult to win games. But it also shows little character. “

The midfielder's first came from the penalty spot, while the second was a superb strike from distance.
Fernandes admitted that he enjoyed scoring but insisted that winning games is more important.
“I am very happy to score a goal, but I want to win games more than scoring goals”, he said.
“It's also part of my role, to score goals. But the important thing for me is to win games.
“Lately we haven't won the way we should have won.
“It's part of the job. You can win eight or nine games in a row, and then when you lose you know you're going to be criticized. Being a Manchester United player requires winning games.”
