Liverpool's best and worst players in the Merseyside derby defeat
Liverpool could not avoid a shock defeat in Wednesday night's Merseyside derby against Everton, winning against their rivals at Goodison Park for the first time since October 2010.
Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool in the summer, making this his last derby. He says he won't miss them, but he will never forget this abomination of a game.
Goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were the difference, with Liverpool only a shadow of their own as their Premier League title challenge went up in smoke.
Read on to discover Liverpool's best and worst players, based on this 90 minratings of his players…
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 6/10
Trent Alexander-Arnold has played much better than this in the past and no doubt will again, but he was still Liverpool's best creative company on a truly poor night. Undoubtedly, his colleagues let him down for not having a standard that matches his own.
Honorable mention
Jarell Quansah: 6/10
The 21-year-old defender came on for the final 27 minutes and stoppage time and was a marked improvement on Iraima Konate, who had been tormented by Calvert-Lewin's relentlessness.
Darwin Nunez: 2/10
Although he was in form at the start of the season, frustration with Darwin Nunez and his poor behavior at the business end is mounting. That's where it matters and he doesn't take chances when they come. He wasted a huge chance in the first half and was not a threat to Everton's defenders.
Speaking of shame
Mohamed Salah: 3/10
At the end of the derby, Liverpool fans on social media were openly discussing whether Mohamed Salah had officially passed. What is certain is that the famous Egyptian player has not been the same since he injured a muscle while on international duty in January and it was almost unknown what he said here.
