A legend Kobe Bryant established himself as the second-best shooting guard of all time, the GOAT of the position with one league MVP award, 18 All-Star appearances and 11th Team All-NBAs (to go with the 1st All-Defenses team). And to go along with his unreal high, he also lived a long life, earning MVP votes all the way through his age-34 season.
That obviously helped Bryant make more money in his career, as he remains the highest-paid 6-footer in league history. The biggest contract of Bryant's career came surprisingly in 2004 when he signed a seven-year, $136.4 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also signed a hefty three-year, $83.5 million contract with LA before the 2010-11 season coming off a back-to-back with the Lakers.
Regardless of how much money he earned in his career, Bryant's bank account was still damaged during his playing career, as his highest single-season salary was only $30.5 million (2013-14, the only season in which he made more than $30 million). compared to other salaries we see today.
Still, even if Bryant's big contracts didn't add up well over the course of his career, there's no doubt he was worth the money considering his high value and loyalty (one trade request aside) to the Lakers.
