West Ham vs Liverpool: Preview, predictions and fixtures

West Ham United can put Liverpool's fading Premier League title hopes to rest when they host the Reds in Saturday's kick-off.

Jurgen Klopp's final season is turning into a damp squib as Liverpool trail Manchester City and Arsenal in the title race following their defeat at Everton in midweek. It was a derby nightmare for the Reds, who were harassed in their box and ineffective at the business end.

Klopp's favorite at lunchtime on Saturday is next on the agenda for Liverpool, and they will face a West Ham side who enjoyed a much-needed break in midweek after enduring a beating at the hands of a resurgent Crystal Palace last weekend. The Hammers were beaten 5-2 in south London just days after Bayer Leverkusen knocked them out of the Europa League.

The David Moyes era looks to be drawing to a close, but the Scotsman will be looking to end his long spell in charge.

Here it is 90 min preview of Liverpool's trip to West Ham.

The Hammers have a few defensive issues, with Nayef Aguerd set to miss out with an ankle injury and Konstantinos Mavropanos a knock-on doubt.

Top scorer Jarrod Bowen has a back problem but manager David Moyes revealed in a press conference that he may be able to play. The England international missed last weekend's defeat at Selhurst Park and is sorely missed.

West Ham predicted to face Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Ogbonna, Emerson; Alvarez, Soucek; Kudus, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta; Antonio.

Cody Gakpo

There will have to be changes to the side that lost at Goodison on Wednesday night.

The out-of-sorts Iraima Konate, fiery midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, and the shy Darwin Nunez will all feature in Klopp's XI.

Liverpool are without Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Ben Doak on Saturday, but Cody Gakpo is back in contention.

Liverpool predicted to face West Ham (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Endo, Gravenberch; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.

Liverpool are running out of steam and their performance in the derby showed a team who look incapable of getting past their title rivals as they endure an emotionally taxing season.

The Reds' title dream was over in midweek, and another tough day's travel is on the horizon. West Ham haven't set the world on fire in recent weeks and they were disappointing last weekend, but they will benefit from having a Thursday night before this one.

The Hammers can be ruthless in transition and hope to exploit Liverpool's backline, but their defense has been porous of late. There should be goals in east London, with a tie that could cripple the Reds' title hopes.

Prediction: West Ham 2-2 Liverpool
