Man Utd prepare £65m+ bid to beat European giants for 'amazing' star
After another frustrating season in the Premier League, Manchester United have once again been left in need of a revamp, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe already looking to make some statements.
Man Utd transfer news
The Red Devils have endured a disastrous campaign, where any progress made under Erik ten Hag has been reversed leaving the Dutchman's future in doubt. So much so that players like Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate are considered to go to Old Trafford to take over from Racliffe.

Manchester United will move quickly after this improvement of Antony in the summer.
Meanwhile, there is a busy summer on the cards when it comes to those in the club, according to Fabrizio Romano, with “many moves” to be made, be it in the form of departures or new faces. There is no doubt that United also need that move if Ten Hag or, indeed, another manager is to return them to the top four and possibly beyond.
In addition, the headlines have already started regarding those changes, Raphael Varane's future is still in doubt and the need to sign another central midfielder is very important this summer, which could see one star.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Manchester United are preparing to outbid Bayern Munich to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona this summer. The Bavarians are reportedly willing to bid €80m (£68m) to sign the centre-back, but those at Old Trafford are willing to exceed that in one of the summer deals to upgrade their full-back permanently.
A two-year target, United could finally land their man this summer and take Varane's last place to start the Ratcliffe era in style. The Red Devils will be making a statement by signing the Barcelona star.
“Spectacular” Araujo is better than Varane
If this is the end of Varane's career at Manchester United, he will leave disappointed. When the defender arrived, he was a World Cup and Champions League winner who was seen as the top part of the business. Now, having failed to return United to the heights they once achieved, Varane will bow out with injuries and inconsistency controlling the narrative of his time in England – something Araujo will look to avoid.

Described as “wonderful” by Barcelona boss Xavi, Araujo's arrival will go a long way towards ending United's defensive woes, whether that is under Ten Hag or another managerial option next season.
That said, despite the lure of Champions League football, it remains to be seen whether the centre-back can make the jump from La Liga to the Premier League, especially with Bayern Munich also interested this summer. When the summer transfer window arrives, he is a player United should be targeting in a good sign of things to come under Ratcliffe.
