Oilers Shut Out Kings 1-0 in Game 4, Grab 3-1 Series Lead – Hockey Writers – Edmonton Oilers
After three games in which one or both teams scored a lot of goals, the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings engaged in a battle, a defensive battle, which was very difficult, on Sunday in Game 4. In theory, the result should have been in favor of LA given to Edmonton's. The trend went to goals, but it was the Oilers who got a narrow 1-0 victory. With that, Connor McDavid and company flew back home with a 3-1 lead in their pocket and a chance to eliminate their opponents in Game 5.
Stuart Skinner Stands Out
Given the way Game 4 played out, it would be impossible to overlook Oilers netminder Stuart Skinner's best night. He played under the usual pressure on Sunday, defending his net on 33 shots for the shutout. Things soured in the third period, the Kings knew they had to do something to at least send another chance into overtime, but Skinner shut the door on everything the opposition sent his way.

As mentioned, the most ironic thing is that this was supposed to be a game that Amakhosi loved. They did so, until they got the lion's share of opportunities, but Edmonton's defense should not be ignored, working like crazy to frustrate Los Angeles as much as possible, including 20 blocked shots.
As for the lone goal scorer, that came through Evan Bouchard at 11:49 of the second period. He blasted a pass from Leon Draisaitl at the blue line on the power play. Speaking of the power play, the Oilers have been impressive throughout the series, hitting a mesmeric 50% through four contests.
The Oilers' chance to beat the Kings comes Wednesday at home in Game 5.
