Rory McIlroy crashes Zurich Classic concert, sings karaoke after win

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry didn't hold back on their post-Zurich celebrations.

Imagine this: You and your friend have just won a golf tournament together and are celebrating by doing karaoke.

Now realize that the competition was not a member of your team and you and your friend are Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry.

Yes, this is something you have to see to believe.

After McIlroy and Lowry wrapped up the group event in the finals earlier in the evening, they headed to the post-tournament concert at TPC Louisiana where a band from England called “The Molly Ringwalds” performed.

The group's website states that the performers “surprise and engage their audiences with energy and passion, while taking them on a musical journey filled with hits that transcend the 80s and define a generation.” Little did they know that the now 25-time PGA Tour winner would help them take the audience on that musical journey.

Several videos started circulating on social media Sunday evening of McIlroy and Lowry getting on stage and the band's singer telling the crowd that McIlroy would be singing Journey's song “Don't Stop Believin.”

At first, McIlroy looked like he was being forced in, but the crowd started chanting “Rory! Rory! Rory!” song, the pianist hit them with that famous intro, and McIlroy belted it out.

“Just a small town girl!”

Lowry didn't reach the microphone, but stood there with his teammates, drinking what appeared to be an ice-cold Michelob Ultra in true Irish style. Even McIlroy took a few swigs during intermission to lubricate his vocal cords, of course.

However, those hoping for McIlroy to go on to sing the iconic song will be disappointed.

Just after the pre-chorus, McIlroy – who was playing his fourth event in the last four weeks – seemed to have had enough. He reached out and dropped the microphone before walking off stage, Lowry pulling him.

What started with a “drunken lunch” ended with the mic dropping, as everyone expected.
