Tottenham are likely to go for Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez
Tottenham are looking for a striker this summer and the North London club are a possible destination for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.
Ange Postecoglou was unable to find a replacement for Harry Kane last summer as the Spurs front man joined Bayern Munich. The Premier League club have been linked with a number of names in recent months and Gimenez is one that remains.
Tottenham have been monitoring the 23-year-old since November, according to Ben Jacobs, and the Mexican star was spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday to watch Arsenal's defeat.
“I think that in the Premier League, Tottenham is still the one to watch, they have been tracking Gimenez since November,” said Jacobs about Gimenez's future.
“He is a player that Ange Postecoglou particularly likes and thinks would fit into their system.”
The transfer reporter also said that the Feyenoord star will not be as expensive as other names on the market this summer, which is also a bonus for Tottenham.
Jacobs said: “Compared to other names that are closer to £80 million plus or £100 million plus fees, Gimenez could be available for a slightly lower price, or a much lower number, even half the price of some. in some of the words I mentioned.
“I think Tottenham are one to watch, but they won't be the only club in the mix.”
Tottenham are not the only club interested in Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez
Gimenez is having a great season with Feyenoord scoring 24 goals and assisting a further seven in 40 games in all competitions.
The Mexican has a contract with the Dutch club until 2027 but would be open to a sale if the right money comes this summer.
While Tottenham are said to be the club most likely to sign the forward, Arsenal and West Ham are also interested in the 23-year-old and could offer competition in the summer.
