Everyone Is Legitimately Crazy About 'Professional Wanted' Marketing
It wouldn't be the playoffs if there wasn't at least one sales pitch that went terribly wrong.
This year, that commercial was AT&T's “What a Pro Wants” ad starring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren.
The small amount of ad play, combined with the way it looks, has NBA fans on edge.
Here's how the wider sports world is reacting to the trade:
I'm ready to call it: Helped in part by being forced on hoops fans for months, the Chet/SGA “What a pro wants” commercial is the worst in history.
I don't know what it was trying to accomplish but if the goal was to leave me equal parts confused and annoyed each time: Well done.

It's the one story that unites all Americans right now. The commercial is disgusting and I get more and more repulsed every time I'm forced to watch it.

I've seen a lot of ads over the years. Selling “What the pros want” by SGA and Chet Holmgren really stands out as the most unpleasant I've ever seen.

I just need 100-200 more views of the What A Pro Wants ad to decide why they are singing that song, what the joke is, why Shai and Chet were chosen for the commercial, and what product is being advertised.

Is the SGA and Chet commercial the worst ever?
