Marcus Rashford's possible places – they are calculated
Manchester United are set for a summer clearance as part of a transfer program under the leadership of INEOS, and Marcus Rashford will not be considered an untouchable asset.
Reports say that Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are the only players whose futures at Old Trafford will be confirmed for the 2024/25 season.
But for a star player like Rashford, who has underperformed this year and earns £325,000-a-week, his fate is unconditional – meaning he will have to ask to leave and the club must raise significant cash.
Where would Rashford go if he left United? Let's look at nine potential areas.
Barcelona of old would be up for this kind of deal. Lord knows they get huge sums of money from any star player just to brag that he is theirs and theirs alone.
Rashford's reputation in Catalonia is probably good too if you consider his performance at the Camp Nou in United's 2-2 draw there in the Europa League last season.
But this is Barca who must sell to buy. There is no chance in hell that they can afford a buyout package for Rashford and retain his wages.

Unlike their El Clasico rivals, there is a bit more discretion in Real Madrid's transfer strategy.
Los Blancos have the money to bring in Rashford, but considering the money they will spend on Kylian Mbappe's contract and the forward options they already have, it doesn't make sense to pursue this deal.

As things currently stand, it is unlikely that Milan will be able to afford Rashford.
That could change if the Rossoneri decide to cash in on Rafael Leao, however. Milan fans have grown to love Premier League signings such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori. It would be hard to imagine Rashford not succeeding in Italy as well.
Likelihood rating: 2/10
A few knocks here and there aside, Tottenham Hotspur have done well to rebuild their reputation as a club for players to want to join this year.
Their fast and loose style would suit a breakneck wide forward like Rashford, and Spurs could do with some strengthening in their forward line.
But, again, the stumbling block is on the financial side.

The club perhaps most willing to provide the money needed for Rashford is Newcastle.
The Magpies have PSR issues to deal with this summer, but with the big-money sale of Bruno Guimaraes on the cards, they could have more room to make a lucrative offer to United.
And let's face it, would you want your team to try to protect top players including Rashford, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon? Probably not.

Building teams full of the world's most lethal wingers is Bayern Munich's legacy.
Rashford would have been worth that fee in Bavaria, and last year's signing of Harry Kane proves they are not shy about shelling out money for the right player and digging their heels in to get a deal over the line.
The transfer fee may not be an issue, but the salary package may be.
Likelihood rating: 5/10
Chelsea's current project is a mess. Still, at least they have Cole Palmer, a good coach in Mauricio Pochettino and owners willing to invest.
They are also looking to strengthen their attacking options, which is not surprising given some of their current personnel.
Can Rashford fill the gap on the left of the 4-2-3-1? It wouldn't be surprising to see Blues throw his hat in the ring.
Likelihood rating: 6/10
Arsenal took the Liverpool-market title. It seems that every transfer involving the Gunners will benefit them, even if it seems unlikely.
Mikel Arteta got the best out of Kai Havertz and is gaining a reputation for grooming talents. Maybe he thinks Rashford needs his guidance to regain his peace. Maybe you think you're a lost cause. Who knows, really. Go and ask him yourself.
Likelihood rating: 6.5/10
90 min he revealed earlier this year that Rashford is on the list of four PSG players who could replace Mbappe.
The French champions have a long-term interest in Rashford and have held several meetings with his camp in recent years, although the sensation from the Parc des Princes was used as a tool to extract a lucrative contract from United.
If there is a real chance for Rashford to leave, PSG will probably lead the line.
Likelihood rating: 7/10
