10 possible replacements for David Moyes
David Moyes' time at West Ham United will come to an end this summer. It's been a wild ride, with the Scot taking charge for the second time in late 2019 to drag the Hammers to Premier League safety.
What followed was truly remarkable, with the former Everton and Manchester United manager guiding the east Londoners to Europe, making the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2021/22, before progressing the following year to the Europa Conference League, at that. arguably Moyes' finest hour of his career.
However, things are not going well at the London Stadium; their recent exit from the Europa League, while representing progress, comes amid another poor Premier League campaign as they struggle to maintain the levels achieved in recent seasons.
So, a change in the dugout could be imminent as Moyes' contract expires this summer, and Football FanCast is looking at other possible takeovers in 2024/25.

1
Julen Lopetegui
Free agent (Last job: Wolves)
The current writers' favorite are Wolves, Sevilla and Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard was financially troubled during his short but successful spell at Molineux as he guided the club to Premier League safety before making way for Gary O'Neil in the summer.
Lopetegui would represent a top pick without the need for a compensation package, and as a Europa League winner with Sevilla, he certainly has the pedigree needed to succeed Moyes in the London Stadium hot seat.
2
Graham Potter
Free agent (Last job: Chelsea)
Graham Potter has been out of action since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023. He was arguably handed a poisoned trophy at Stamford Bridge as he suffered defeats at Swansea City and Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as Sweden's Ostersunds.
It is reported that he may take over from Moyes but he is wanted as he recently negotiated with Dutch giants, Ajax, which reportedly failed due to salary requirements. Whether he will see West Ham as a big draw remains to be seen.

Paul Fonseca
Lille
Paulo Fonseca is often linked with Premier League roles, with Spurs and Everton among those in the past considering hiring the Portuguese manager, who is currently chasing a Champions League spot at Lille.
A successful coach at FC Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Roma, his lack of Premier League experience may not be much of a problem compared to the alternatives here.
4
Ruben Amorim
Sports CP
Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim has already held well-publicised talks with West Ham – talks he admitted were “mistakes”.
It looks like his apology was out of respect for his current club rather than outright rejecting West Ham, though you'd think it would be a U-turn for him to finally sign on the dotted line at the London Stadium now. That said, given his domestic and European success in recent years, it suggests that the Hammers are looking for an exciting time.
5
Is It Still
Free agent (Last job: Stade Reims)
Comfortably the youngest man on this list, Will remains in charge as manager of Stade Reims in France's Ligue 1, with his side holding their own in mid-table before he abruptly left the role by mutual consent this week.
Interestingly, he is still a West Ham fan, although whether the likes of David Sullivan will see his short managerial career so far as enough to take the club to the next level is another question.
6
Brendan Rodgers
Celtic
An experienced coach at the Premier League level, Brendan Rodgers ended up in the top division of England with Leicester City, which was eventually relegated under Dean Smith.
As we have already managed in Europe with Celtic and Liverpool, there is no doubt about the credentials of the Northern Irishman, but leaving the Bhoys suddenly for a second time may seem impossible.
7
Gary O'Neil
Wolves
Gary O'Neil has impressed since taking over from Julen Lopetegui at Wolves, with the West Ham midfielder defying the Old Gold by keeping them clear of relegation trouble during the current campaign.
With Bournemouth impressing again, the only question is whether signing O'Neil will be seen as a step forward.

Michael Carrick
Middlesbrough
Another former West Ham midfielder, Michael Carrick's first steps in senior management with Middlesbrough saw promising signs, with Boro making the Championship play-offs in his first season in charge. He also guided his team to the Carabao Cup semis this season.
Having previously managed Manchester United as chairman, he would appear unfazed by the prospect of a return to east London.
9
Hansi Flick
Free agent (Last job: Germany)
A Bundesliga and Champions League winner with Bayern Munich, there is no doubt that Hansi Flick could be the Hammers' biggest rally.
His time as Germany's national coach may have inspired the potential of the London Stadium that there are better, more reliable options available – but perhaps Flick could see West Ham as the right team to rebuild his managerial career at club level.

Thomas Tuchel
Bayern Munich
With his intention to leave Bavaria this summer, Thomas Tuchel was said to be a possible successor to Moyes in recent weeks. Another manager who needs no introduction, the Champions League winner may say he has unfinished business in the Premier League.
This one seems to be at the lower end of the scale, but the Hammers could still be rewarded for their ambition if they were to sign the former Chelsea boss.
