Devin Haney blasts “dirty” Ryan Garcia after VADA test

Devin Haney responded to Ryan Garcia's VADA test with a scathing statement when he accused his opponent of disrespecting the sport by “fighting dirt” when they met on April 20.

Haney, who was knocked out three times by Garcia en route to his first professional title, released the statement earlier today following news of Garcia's two tests.

“We learned about this situation not too long ago and it's unfortunate that Ryan cheated and disrespected the fans and the sport of boxing by fighting dirty and getting busted not once, but twice.” Haney began.

“I have always been an advocate of clean fighting and this is an example of this. Ryan owes fans an apology, and with his latest tweet he still thinks this is a joke. We put our lives on the line to please people for a living. You don't play boxing.”

The reference to Garcia's tweet (X) comes after the social media star responded to news of the outbreak by making a series of strange posts to his nearly one million followers on the platform. The posts ranged from Garcia making a dirty joke about being photographed with Donald Trump to blatantly suggesting controversial rapper Sean 'P Diddy' Combs “paid for the tests”.

The 25-year-old Haney, who still holds the WBC super-lightweight title due to Garcia's failure to cut weight, finished by emphasizing the dangers of the match and once again insulted 'KingRy' for his carelessness.

“This puts the war in a different light. Despite the evil, I still fought for my shield and stood up!”

“People die in this game. This is not a joke.”
