Liverpool have included a plan to sign a “brilliant” £50m+ star in a transfer review
All eyes are on the future at Liverpool, with Arne Slot on the way as Jurgen Klopp ends nine years at Anfield. And as one chapter ends, Michael Edwards seems to be ensuring that the next season is equally successful, if not more so, by turning to the transfer market.
Liverpool transfer news
For a while, it looked like it would be Ruben Amorim who would replace Klopp at Liverpool, but the plan quickly changed as it was Slot who was on the verge of taking over. The Feyenoord manager has been very open about his next move.
That said, Edwards can now focus on strengthening to start the Slot season with a bang, which has seen the likes of Crysencio Summerville linked with a move to Anfield. The Leeds United star has enjoyed an excellent campaign in the Championship and has found himself on Liverpool's radar as a result. And he's not the only one, as the Reds have made their intentions clear about the player they've been eyeing for months.

According to Bild (via TEAMtalk), Liverpool have put together a plan to sign Willian Pacho, before loaning him back to Eintracht Frankfurt this summer. The Bundesliga club's player is valued at €60m (£51.5m), the Reds will have to come up with a deal, which will see the centre-back feature for the first time in the 2025/26 season.
Interestingly, that deal will see Pacho arrive at the same time as Virgil van Dijk's Liverpool contract expires. At that stage, the Frankfurt man could be a timely player, ready to replace Van Dijk to give the Reds a big boost in the coming years.
“Clever” Pacho is in a position to replace Van Dijk
Replacing Klopp this summer is difficult enough, but Liverpool had better get used to it, with both Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk coming to the end of their current deals. While new terms can't be agreed, both players are past 30 and will slowly be nearing the end of their careers, meaning those at Anfield would be wise to plan ahead.
Pacho, still only 22, has plenty of potential, and come 2025, he should be activated and ready to help fill any void left by the current Liverpool captain.

The Colombian's rise has led to a lot of praise from the Bundesliga, including Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche, who said via the league's official website: “Willian is a very intelligent player, listens well and is quick to do what is asked of him. His speed and power in knocking down is what makes him stand out.”
Now, Liverpool are looking to capitalize on the genius of the defender, albeit in the summer of 2025, rather than the immediate future.
