Newcastle United will change their transfer situation for Bruno Guimaraes this summer

Newcastle United find themselves in a critical position this summer as the club navigate complex Financial Fair Play rules while looking to strengthen their squad for next season.

Amid reports of players being released to raise funds, the spotlight has fallen on Bruno Guimaraes, the Brazilian midfielder whose future at St James' Park has long been subject to speculation.

Recent rumors have suggested that Newcastle United are considering giving up Guimaraes, armed with his hefty £100 million release clause, to avoid FFP issues. The lure of a hefty transfer fee proved too great, presenting a tempting solution to the club's financial woes. However, emerging reports paint a different picture, one of renewed confidence in retaining the services of the powerful midfielder.

Newcastle United are now planning to keep Bruno Guimaraes at the club

According to Football Insider, Newcastle, under the leadership of Eddie Howe, is now shifting its focus from Guimaraes to other ways to improve the team and strengthen its financial situation. Despite the initial fears, there is a clear sense of optimism within the club about the future of Guimaraes, with sources indicating a strong desire to keep the fan favourite.

The Brazilian has had a fantastic season for the North East club scoring six goals and six assists in the Premier League. And while Newcastle have struggled to keep some of their key players fit throughout the season, Guimaraes has missed two top-flight games as of writing, thus highlighting his solidity and reliability at the back of the team.
