Rory McIlroy is making a subtle change to his golf balls at Wells Fargo
TaylorMade Golf
This week's Wells Fargo Championship marks the final PGA Tour event before next week's PGA Championship at Valhalla, and some players have made minor changes to their gear leading up to the second major of the year – including Rory McIlroy.
The difference is that Rory's latest change has less to do with performance and more to do with how he marks his TaylorMade TP5x golf balls.

With the help of TaylorMade's MySymbol system and custom printing capabilities, Rory ditched the standard number on his golf ball and went with the RORS-branded TP5x. This not only makes targeting his golf ball much easier but also means that the only other marking he has to make on his golf ball is the putter line that crosses the side stamp.
Rory is not alone either.
Collin Morikawa, who is also currently tied for second at 4-under with Rory McIlroy and Alex Noren, also uses his Symbol My printing skills by using the number 5 made in the LA Dodger font.
TaylorMade MySymbol
TaylorMade's My Symbol system has been a hit with professional golfers and consumers alike since its launch in 2023 and continues to push the envelope when it comes to golf ball customization.
“Personalization and customization is on the rise, and it's not just in golf,” said Mike Fox, senior director of product development for TaylorMade's golf ball division. “With MySymbol, we wanted to fulfill not only the needs but also exceed their expectations. That doesn't include adding different logos to the golf ball. It comes with years of machine development to put logos in places where they have never been before. It's a fully designed product where you can choose the color of your TaylorMade logo, the logo underneath it, and where it goes. MySymbol allows golfers to take your golf ball customization to a new level.”
Some of those customization options include TaylorMade's limited edition pix golf balls featuring peaches, donuts, and even tacos.
The best part is you don't need to be Rory McIlroy or Collin Morikawa to get your golf balls customized with a logo or 4 letter stamp. All you need to do is go to the Taylormade.com MySymbol portal to get started.
