Usyk's promoter is looking forward to “a unique clash of the future”
ALEX Krassyuk says that despite their different styles, personalities and ways of life, only one man can win on May 18 when his fighter, Oleksandr Usyk, and the “gypsy king”, Tyson Fury, in Riyadh.
Billed as the “Ring of Fire”, the heat is on before the undisputed heavyweight title fight for Usyk's IBF, WBA and WBO belts, alongside Fury's WBC, Ring Magazine, Lineal status and bragging rights as the Baddest Man on the Planet.
“This is a unique clash of the future,” said the K2 Promotions powerhouse Debate News.
“Tyson walked a difficult path in his life, from a man to an idol. Syk did the same. Their paths are completely different, like their paths in life.”
It took a lot to get to this stage. Two undefeated boxers from different walks of life. Usyk takes a tough road through the ranks of cruiserweights on the streets of Europe to defeat the biggest and best in the land of the giants.
Tyson Fury, ridiculed and vilified as a bumbling fool, awkward and eccentric, fell awkwardly behind his most respected domestic contemporaries. Rising as an underdog, surpassing all, he has ascended to an unexpected throne.
“But the thing is, only one can be a winner,” added Krassyuk, putting everything right. “As Tyson said, the other will go home with his ad**k hand! And this game is so powerful that you can't help but love this fight.”
Krassyuk has said that the outcome of the contest will be determined by mental toughness, and Usyk's monk-like discipline both inside and outside the ring will help him win.
Angered by Fury's dismissal, the Kyiv-based promoter has been busy fighting for his star while managing the likes of Denys Berinchyk (who fights Emanuel Navarrete on the same night as Fury-Usyk), Dmytro Mytrofanov and Vasile Cebotari.
Boxing can be a lonely road. It will be worth it if Usyk climbs to the top on May 18, over an opponent who, like him, has overcome many obstacles to succeed.
