At Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner Will Be On The Fast Track To No.1

Novak Djokovic's loss in Rome today opened the door for Jannik Sinner surpassing the 24-year-old Grand Slam champion at the top of the ATP rankings. Djokovic, who lost to Alejandro Tabilo 6-2, 6-3 on Sunday, dropped 130 points in his collection, leaving him 1090 points behind Sinner as Roland Garros begins.
But the World No.1 defends 2000 points from last year's French Open, while Sinner only defended 45.
That means Sinner will open the tournament with 865 points over Djokovic in the live rankings. In other words, Djokovic will need to surpass the Italian with 865 points to remain No. 1 on Monday after Roland Garros.
If:
– Djokovic does not reach the final of the French Open
– Medvedev does not reach the final in Rome or win in ParisJANNIK #SINNER IT WILL BE THE 29TH WORLD NO. 1 FROM 06/10!

Djokovic will need to reach at least the final to stay at No. 1 – even if Sinner doesn't win a single match. If Djokovic beats Sinner in the final, Sinner will have the consolation of reaching the No. 1 ranking.
If Djokovic loses in the final, Sinner will have to reach the quarterfinals to move up to No. 1 on June 10.
Stay tuned: Daniel Medvedev may also be running in Paris, depending on Medvedev's results in Rome.
