Seguin, Stankoven Lead Stars to 4-1 win over Avalanche in Game 3 – Hockey Writers – Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars didn't let the Colorado Avalanche come back tonight as youngster Logan Stankoven and veteran Tyler Seguin each scored two goals to lead the Stars to a 4-1 victory. The Stars have won two in a row after scoring three goals at home and lost 4-3 in the 1st game.
The Stars opened the scoring for the third game in a row with Stankoven's first game goal after working hard on the boards. It was the first sustained pressure from Pete DeBoer's team after the Avalanche dominated most of the period. They came out 11-5 but escaped with a 1-0 lead.
Mikko Rantanen tied the game at three in the playoffs for the second time, but Seguin gave the Stars the lead again 5:13 later with a tip-in off an Evgenii Dadonov shot. The Stars then closed in the bottom of the third, outscoring the Avalanche 10-7 and scored a couple of empty-net goals in the last two minutes by Seguin and Stankoven.
