Piers Morgan slams Tottenham fans for 'cheating' after Manchester City defeat

Talk show host Piers Morgan lashed out at Tottenham fans after Tuesday night's Premier League defeat by Manchester City.

Arsenal would have been in a good position to win the title on the final day if their opponents had picked up a point or more against the reigning champions, but Erling Haaland's goal ruined the team in the red half of North London.

Many Spurs fans have expressed their desire for Pep Guardiola's men to win at home and have admitted they would prefer to miss out on the Champions League if it means preventing the Gunners from claiming their first league title since 2004.

On a strange night, there were plenty of Arsenal fans who pledged their support for Ange Postecoglou's side on social media, only to be left disappointed after Heung-Min Son missed a huge chance late in the game.

The next day, Mikel Arteta's troops still haven't forgiven Spurs for refusing to do them a favor, especially Morgan, who went on a rant on talkSPORT, insulting his neighbors.

He said: “Jamie O'Hara and all the other young Spurs fans who were celebrating their team's defeat are probably the most disgraceful young team fools I think world football has ever seen!

“I mean they were dancing and cheering for Man City scoring a goal against them.

“It has to be the most shameful, humiliating, self-destructive act of deception I have ever seen and I deeply regret it. [for them]because I've woken up in the morning knowing what it's like to be a Spurs fan all night and it's scary.

“I woke up with a headache, I couldn't sleep, I drank too much and I felt dizzy which disappeared when I remembered that I am an Arsenal fan.

“I think of another night where their fans were fully supported in the stadium, which is what normal fans would do if they wanted to be a big team, but the situation was not good.

“I thought Tottenham were competitive for a lot of that game, if you're one of those players and you've got a manager who's willing to do whatever it takes to get a result and you're looking at the fans in the stands. there is silence, there are big events of the game and then jump up and shout a goal when City scores a goal, what kind of message does that send to the players?

“I'm not only disappointed with the Tottenham fans, but I think they should all feel ashamed, they won't, but they should.”
