Aston Villa have chance to copy Kamara's trick with £75k-p/w league win
Aston Villa have been given the chance to complete a transfer this summer, after it emerged the incoming free agent is open to a switch this summer.
The Villa is subject to a financial audit
Despite the historic success under Unai Emery, which saw them finish fourth in the Premier League and return to the Champions League for the first time since the 1980s, there are concerns at Villa Park.
The club spent heavily in recent windows and posted a loss of £119.6m after tax in their year-end accounts, although they stressed that “these figures are in line with the business plan, and we continue to operate within the Premier League's rules for profitability and sustainability”.
However, it has understandably led to concerns that finances could be tight for the Midlands club this summer without parting ways with one of their stars, with the likes of Douglas Luiz and Ollie Watkins both linked with moves away.

The decision was taken from his hand.
Another strategy, and one that Villa has pursued well in recent years, is to exploit the free agent market.
They signed Boubacar Kamara in Steven Gerrard's last transfer window in charge, before making a 12-month run for Youri Tielemans. If reports are to be believed, their eyes are on Mario Hermoso this summer, and they are determined to beat Inter Milan to sign him. He may not be the only one who comes for free.
The villa is ideal for a repeat of Kamara
Now, Villa have been offered the chance to sign another defensive midfielder on a free, in the form of Leicester City man Wilfred Ndidi. The Villans have been tracking him all season, with his £75,000-a-week contract at the King Power Stadium set to expire this season and so far no renewal has been agreed.

In the new version, Ndidi himself revealed that he is ready to change, if anything is available, even though he was the mainstay of the Leicester City team that lifted the Championship trophy last week.
“I think morale is high, hope is high, we have to make sure we don't go back to the Championship. It's hard to play, Ndidi told Complete Sports.
“If a good opportunity comes along, I wouldn't mind trying my luck elsewhere but for now I'm still a Leicester City player.”
Of course, a move to Villa would bring the opportunity to play in the Champions League again, a competition that Ndidi tasted during his time with the Foxes back in 2016.
He would also be an excellent replacement option given his experience in the Premier League and Europe, having been called “fantastic” by Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers during his time in the top flight. Could he be the next Kamara that Emery's side desperately need?
