Liverpool boss fires Man United legend
The Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, intends to search for Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand before he leaves the club.
The Reds coach has only one game left in charge of the Premier League club, a home game against Wolves this weekend.
Klopp is set to leave the Merseyside club after joining in 2015, guiding them to Premier League and Champions League glory.
Incoming manager Arne Slot will manage the club, arriving at Anfield from Dutch Eredivisie club Feyenoord.
The German manager said his recent conversation with Man United legend Ferdinand was not positive.
In his farewell interview, Klopp discussed his time at Anfield, particularly the club's historic Premier League victory in the 2019-20 campaign, with Liverpool fans. Redmen TV.
Ferdinand wanted at the time to have the season declared void due to the coronavirus outbreak, preventing Liverpool from winning the league for the first time in thirty years.
'Rio Ferdinand I think he said, “I think you should abolish the league”', Klopp said.
'I forgot it was actually him [the one who said that] because I gave him an interview recently… it wasn't a good interview anyway.'
Luckily for Liverpool and Klopp, that didn't happen and they went on to beat Manchester City and win the Premier League title.
It was the club's first league title in three decades and it came at a time when fans could not celebrate with the team due to the COVID regulations.
Klopp has made a dream come true for Liverpool fans, which many managers in the past have failed to do.
The Liverpool manager is preparing for an emotional farewell
His farewell at Anfield will be an emotional day for the club, for himself, the players and the fans.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager is expected to spend some time away from football before taking up another job.
Arne Slot has a tough job replacing fan favorite Klopp and it will be interesting to see if he can fill the void left by the imminent Klopp.
