Man Utd scout left “bewitched” by “massive” £60m transfer target
A Manchester United scout is reportedly “enchanted” to work on one of the club's summer transfer targets, having flown out to watch him play earlier this week.
Man Utd transfer news
The Red Devils have had a disappointing season, entering the campaign for a top four finish in the Premier League. Instead, they never looked like achieving that goal, crashing out of Europe again after finishing bottom of their Champions League group.
For that reason, it is very important that a number of new signings come in during the summer transfer window, and improvements, from their aging defense to their timid attack, are needed all over the pitch.
RB Leipzig and Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko is reportedly a target for United at the end of the season, having scored 14 goals in just 17 Bundesliga starts this season. He is seen as a player who could provide much-needed competition to Rasmus Hojlund in the center of attack, especially with Anthony Martial expected to move forward.
Another top target looks to be Crystal Palace veteran Michael Olise, whose form and output have been eye-catching this season – when fit. Fabrizio Romano said about the situation: “Olise is still a highly valued player at Manchester United, and by the people on the scouting team since one year ago.”
Man Utd are “bewitched” by the target
In accordance with Tuttosport (with Sports Witness) representing Manchester United was left “bewitched” by Gleison Bremer when he watched Juventus play Atalanta in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday, as they won 1-0 thanks to Dusan Vlahovic's goal.
The man in question “flew to Italy specially” to watch the Brazilian, and the Red Devils are now “very serious” about his pursuit. A bid of €70m (£60m) is expected to be enough to land him.
Bremer is exactly what United need this summer in terms of an outstanding full-back who is at an ideal age to step in and become Lisandro Martinez's long-term partner in the heart of defence.
The 27-year-old has impressed for Juve throughout this season, averaging 4.1 clearances and 2.9 assists per game in Serie A in 35 games. He has even scored three goals for good measure. Meanwhile, former Brazil manager Tite once spoke about him after calling him an international career, saying:
“Bremer had this opportunity to be called up because of his work and high performance in Torino and Juventus. Maybe we made a mistake and didn't pay enough attention to him, because we should have paid more attention to him before. When he came here, in the games and lessons we did together, he gave a sense of confidence. He is a top player.
At 27, Bremer is younger than Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans – the former has confirmed he is leaving United this summer – and undoubtedly has the ability to adapt to the Premier League with ease.
