The Lakers are considering JJ Redick as a top candidate for the head coaching job

The Los Angeles Lakers have tapped JJ Redick as their next head coach, according to Anthony Irwin of Lakers Daily.

The Purple and Gold are moving forward with this decision after deciding that Tyronn Lue will not be available this offseason.

Last week, it was reported that the Lakers would begin negotiating with candidates. They have now received the necessary approvals to negotiate with assistant coaches who are currently in the play-offs.

Sources say the Lakers approached their meeting with Redick expecting to impress.
