Boxing Results: Josh Taylor Vs. Jack Catterall 2 – Stop the War!

In the Grand Event former joint champion and No. 5 WBO ranked southpaw Josh Taylor, 19-2 (13), #139.6, from Haddington, Scotland, UK, lost to southpaw Jack 'El Gato' Catterall, 29-1 (13) , #139.8 , of Chorley, Lancashire, UK, over 12 rounds.

In the first round it ended happily with Catterall coming out on top. In the second round with one minute left there was a clash of heads without being cut. Five seconds into the third round, heads collided again. Taylor worked hard for Catterall.

In the fourth round Catterll finished the stronger of the two by leaving more between the paws heading into the round. In the final seconds, Catterll drove Taylor into the ropes and nearly went through them with a left to the chin.

In the sixth and seventh rounds Taylor kept the pressure on in a battle of jabs with Catterall ending the round with a combination. In the eighth and ninth rounds, a fight broke out with Catterll finishing the second half of the round with a left to Taylor's chin.

In the tenth round Taylor came back although Catterall was bleeding from the nose for the whole round. In the eleventh round in the last minute Catterll rocked Taylor and almost dropped him as Taylor fell on him taking both of them to the canvas. In the twelfth and final round both fighters were close to exhaustion and Taylor's face was marked with his left eye almost closed.

Referee Kevin Parker. Scored 117-111 twice and 116-113. Scores at 117-111 proved too wide.

WBA Intercontinental and IBF International Cruiser titles Cheavon 'C4' Clarke, 9-0 (6), #199.3, from Montego Bay, JAM, Gravesend, UK, defeated Ellis Zorro, 17-2 (7) , #198.6, from Kent , UK, in 2:59 in round eight of the scheduled 12 rounds, the vacant British Cruiser title.

In the first four rounds Clarke forced a hard-fought fight for referee Mark Bates to face and Clarke took four rounds. Zorro lost by knockout in his last fight but Clarke didn't come close to hurting him. Zorro showed little except for the jab.

In the seventh round, in the last seconds of the fight, they exchanged punches for the first time. With one minute remaining in the eighth round referee Bates warned Zorro for holding. He started with a right to the head followed by two more punches to the head and then Zorro landed in referee Bates' court.

WBA Continental Welterweight Champion and WBA No. 11 ranked southpaw 'The Real Deal' Paddy Donovan, 14-0 (11), #145.4, of Limerick, IRE, stopped former British fighter Lewis 'Sandman' Ritson, 23 -4 (13) , #146.8, of Forest Hall, UK, at 0:32 of the ninth round of the scheduled 10 rounds.

In the first two rounds Donovan used uppercuts to the body and head taking both rounds.

In the third round Ritson finally took charge with his jab and lead rights to Donovan's chin. In the fourth to seventh rounds, Donovan came back and ran Ritson. Ritson forces the fight but is facing Donovan and is far behind

In the eighth round Donovan red-faced Ritson with multiple punches in the corner throughout the round. In the ninth round Donovan continued where he left off before referee Howard Foster stopped.

Southpaw Gary 'The Diva' Cully, 18-1 (10), #134.1, of Naas, IRE, defeated Francesco Patera, 29-4 (11), #134.1, of Genk, Limburg, BELG, over ten rounds for the vacant WBA Continental Lightweight Title.

The referee is Michael Alexander. Total score is 96-94.

George Liddard, 7-0 (4), #162.3, of Billericay, Essex, UK, knocked out southpaw Graham 'G'Train' McCormack, 9-4-1 (1), #162.3, of Limerick, IRE , at 1:28 of the first round of the scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first round, Liddard knocked McCormack down twice as referee Michael Alexander counted after the second round.

Lightweight Giorgio Visioli, 3-0 (3), #134.1, of Guildford, Surrey, UK, defeated Sergio Odabai, 6-4-1 (3), #136.5, of Vienna, Austria, in 1: 47 in the fourth. 6 planned cycle cycle.
