Lexi Thompson retires from golf full time at season's end – Golf News

Thompson, 29, an 11-time LPGA Tour winner who played in the Solheim Cup six times, said in an audiobook on Instagram that he will be “retiring from full-time golf” at the end of 2024. competing at the US Women's Open in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Thompson said: “Although it's never easy to say goodbye, it's definitely time. By the end of 2024, I will be retiring the golf program entirely.

“I am happy to enjoy the rest of the year as there are still goals I want to achieve. I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life. Time with family, friends, and my trusted partner, Leo.

“I will always look for ways to participate in the sport and inspire the next generation of golfers. And of course, I'm looking forward to my little time.”

Thompson burst onto the scene at the age of 12 in 2007 when he became the youngest player ever to qualify for the US Open at the time.

He spent nine years, from 2013 to 2022, consistently playing in the Top 10 of the Rolex Rankings, represented the USA in both the 2016 and 2020 Olympics and will appear in his 18th consecutive US Open at Lancaster Country Club this week.
