Man City star Erling Haaland has announced his signing for Fluminense as a match
Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, was caught in an unusual hacking incident when Fluminense, a Brazilian club, “announced” his transfer on their website.
Haaland, who now has 38 goals in 45 games this season, joined Fluminense “after intensive discussions and a great effort by our board,” according to a statement posted on the club's website on Monday.
The story disappeared from the website as quickly as it appeared because it was not true.
Fluminense responded to Globo Esporte's request for comment on the matter by confirming that the website had been hacked.
The attack was eventually identified as the work of social media user X, and was fixed around midnight.
It is reported that Haaland even contacted Fluminense and asked why this piece was published. It was removed on Tuesday morning.

Although the joke created a short-lived sensation, the true nature of Haaland has not changed.
He recently completed another successful season with Manchester City, which saw the team win the Premier League for the fourth time in a row.
While Fluminense fans could not celebrate the signing of Haaland, they did sign former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva.
Silva announced earlier this month that he will leave Chelsea after four fruitful years, then join Fluminense.
Silva may now train with his new teammates at Fluminense before his transfer of registration on July 1st, as agreed by the Blues.
He agreed to a two-year contract with the Brazilian giants.
Haaland has no intention of leaving Man City
Meanwhile, Haaland is determined to stay at Manchester City with the Premier League club giving him a platform to win silverware every season.
He is happy at the Etihad Stadium and has yet to say he wants to leave the Premier League champions.
In his two seasons at the club, Haaland has won the Premier League title twice, the Champions League title and the FA Cup.
