LAFC predicted to face FC Dallas
LAFC will aim to keep their championship alive when they take on Western Conference side FC Dallas at BMO Stadium this weekend.
Fresh off a 3-1 loss to the LA Galaxy, FC Dallas will now be tasked with taking on another Los Angeles-based club in the form of LAFC. It's been a rough season for Dallas so far, and things could only get worse after their showdown with the Black and Gold on Saturday night.
LAFC, on the other hand, managed to win four games in a row to place themselves in third place in the Western Conference table with 27 points, one behind their bitter rivals Galaxy. Coach Steve Cherundolo has revamped his 3-4-3 tactics due to the limited number of midfielders at his disposal, and it wouldn't be too surprising to see him revert to his preferred 4-3-3. Ilie Sanchez is back in the mix.
Here's how LAFC could take the field against FC Dallas.
GK: Hugo Lloris – The former French international kept his sixth clean sheet this season against Minnesota.
RB: Ryan Hollingshead – Hollingshead returns to his usual right-back position after shopping at left-wing back.
CB: Jesus Murillo – Murillo gets the nod at right centre-back after playing on the right of the back three on several occasions.
CB: Aaron Long – The USMNT defender starts alongside Murillo at the back.
LB: Omar Campos – After a cameo in the second half against the Loons, the former Santos Laguna player slotted in at left back from the jump.
CM: Timothy Tillman – The 25-year-old is hoping to continue his good season, which he has found in the net four times.
CM: Ilie Sanchez – Sanchez returns to Cherundolo's XI for the first time on May 11 after recovering from a leg injury.
CM: Eduard Atuesta – Like Sanchez, Atuesta also returns to action after serving a one-game suspension after picking up a second yellow card in LAFC's 1-0 win over Atlanta United.
RW: Cristian Olivera – The Uruguayan looks set to wreak havoc on Dallas' pace on the right side.
ST: Mateusz Bogusz – There is no doubt that he is oozing with confidence after scoring in his last two matches.
LW: Denis Bouanga – The player who has won the Gold title will be hungry to add his 10th goal in the campaign to try to stay at the top of the points.
