Erik ten Hag explains Man United's transfer plans ahead of a busy summer

Manchester United need a lot of new additions to their squad this summer.

Following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe earlier this year, the Red Devils are expected to make changes both on and off the pitch to restore their former glory.

An eighth-placed finish in the Premier League will have consequences, despite the club eventually winning the FA Cup against Manchester City.

Players will be sold and others will be signed to fill the voids of underperforming players.

Defender Raphael Varane is out of the squad along with striker Anthony Martial.

The Premier League giants are expected to sign replacements for both of them. Along with the defenders, the club will look to sign a new midfielder.

Casemiro faces an uncertain future at the club while Sofyan Amrabat and Christian Eriksen do not have a long-term future at the club.

Ten Hag discussed Man United's transfer plans ahead of what could be a busy summer transfer window for the FA Cup winners.

Man United need new signings to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League again.

“We need to find a striker to work with Rasmus Hojlund. I also hope that we will be able to find another midfielder to replace Varane,” The Mirror quotes Ten Hag.

“After that I think things will look very good next season – making sure the players are healthy and stay fit. Then you can start playing towards the top four with eleven like that. That gives me hope and makes sense in my eyes.”

The Red Devils need quality and depth in their squad and can hope to avoid the injury problem they experienced last season.

Losing key players at crucial times of the season is costing Ten Hag a lot of points and the club is determined to rectify this issue.

Erik ten Hag has no guarantee of a future at Man United

The Dutch manager is making plans for the future, however his job at the club is not yet secure.

A decision will be made soon on the future of the Man United manager after a detailed review of his performance since his arrival from Ajax.

In order to challenge for the trophies again, the Red Devils need to inject new players into the team and striker, midfielder and defender are the most important for them.
