Vinicius Junior made a bid for Real Madrid on a contract following the Champions League victory
Vinicius Junior has said he wants to stay at Real Madrid forever after scoring in the 2023/24 Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
The Spanish giants lifted the trophy for the 15th time on Saturday night thanks to Dani Carvajal's header and Vinicius' finish following Ian Maatsen's mistake.
Their victory silenced thousands of Dortmund fans who were hoping to end their 27-year wait for a second Champions League trophy.
Brazilian forward Vinicius got his name on the scoresheet in the 83rd minute to score his second Champions League final, netting the winner against Liverpool in 2022.
Vinicius' contract with Madrid runs until 2027 having signed a contract extension in October 2023 and the success has prompted the 23-year-old to comment on his future, with the La Liga star saying he hopes to stay at Madrid permanently.
Speaking after winning the title, he said: “I am very happy that I was able to win another Champions League with this team, which has given me a lot. It's unbelievable. Not everyone can find us and win many times. It seems that it is easy to come here and win.
“We've suffered a lot all season, with all the injuries we've had. Everyone has worked hard to get here.
“I am very happy to be here for such a long time. I hope the president can renew my contract because I want to be here forever and continue to make history like Carvajal, Nacho, [Luka] Modric or [Toni] Kroos.
“They won the Champions League six times and showed us the way. I want to be like them. I would like to retire here, although I don't think the people at Flamengo will let me.”
