Chelsea are closing in on Maresca's appointment
Enzo Maresca is set to be announced as Chelsea's new manager today.
The appointment will end the club's search for a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, who left by mutual consent on May 21.
Chelsea held talks with other candidates, including Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna, but were sold on Maresca because of his excellent record at Leicester, whom he led out of the Championship at the first time of asking, and his background working with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
The Blues have seen how another Guardiola pupil, Mikel Arteta, has flourished at Arsenal.

Maresca, 44, is unlikely to find it easy at Stamford Bridge, however, with reports suggesting the players are unhappy about the departure of the popular Pochettino with the club starting to improve as the season progresses.
Chelsea have won their last five Premier League games to finish sixth and secure a place in the Europa Conference League.
Maresca is expected to sign a five-year deal in west London and the club have an option for a sixth. Leicester will receive a compensation of almost £10million.
