It is reported that Cody Crowley is out of the July 13 fight against Jaron Ennis
Jaron Ennis' homecoming to Philadelphia on July 13 needs a new opponent, according to a report.
Ennis, who is the IBF welterweight champion, is less than six weeks away from his return and was due to fight Cody Crowley. However, ESPN reported that Crowley is unable to compete, having failed a pre-fight eye test, which is bad news for the Canadian who underwent emergency double eye surgery last year.
The race is on for Ennis' new team – Matchroom – to find a replacement for his first IBF welterweight world title defense at the Wells Fargo Centre.
Ennis responded to the news early this morning (UK time) with the following post on X/Twitter.
If it's Cody or not I'm still going to fight a top contender on July 13th as scheduled! DON'T WORRY!

Matchroom and Eddie Hearn have yet to comment and there was no immediate response from the latter Debate News I reached him today (June 5). However, yesterday they revealed the undercard for the July 13 event which includes the first world title defense of WBC Female featherweight champion Skye Nicolson against Diana Vargas. While Hearn recently signed American Jalil Major Hackett faced Peter Dobson in a 10-round welterweight contest.
