NHL Rumors: Anaheim Ducks, and Montreal Canadiens
The Anaheim Ducks are looking for veteran depth up front, and will listen to John Gibson and Trevor Zegras
Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic: The Anaheim Ducks hope they can take the next step and have another early first-round pick next year. GM Pat Verbeek has his eye on the development of some programs.
“I would like to add a few more veteran pieces to the team. I'd like to get a top six player, and I'd like to get a top four defenseman. You know, 31 other teams can say the same thing, right?”
Verbeek wants to add some depth but still allow children to discover more information. He explores both the free agent and trade markets.
NHL Rumors: Anaheim Ducks, and St. Louis Blues
They will call on goalkeeper John Gibson but it is okay that he is still with the team. He has three years left at $6.4 million.
A league source said the Ducks are listening to call up infielder Trevor Zegras and will trade him for the right deal… Verbeek has not commented.
The Montreal Canadiens signed Martin Necas and Trevor Zegras
Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic: The Montreal Canadiens traded for Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook leading to the latest draft, and GM Kent Hughes may be looking at the same type of move again.
“I think so. If we can get a player, if we can trade for an adjustment, we have to look at any way we can improve this team. We will not end up with something that will make us better next season. But if it happens, call that the icing on the cake.”
Sources say the Canadiens have signed Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas. They are also believed to be in on Trevor Zegras, though they may not be aggressive about it.
