Top scorers, assists and player of the year

Real Madrid capped off their incredible campaign with a Champions League triumph after defeating Borussia Dortmund to clinch a record 15th European title.

At the start of the season, they held the La Liga title, flying high to finish 10 points clear of rivals Barcelona. If that wasn't enough, they won the Spanish Super Cup again after defeating Xavi's side 4-1 in the final.

It's safe to say that their campaign was incredibly memorable – and for all the right reasons.

Here's a look back at Madrid's ambitious 2023/24 title-winning season.

It's no wonder Vinicius is considered one of the best players in the world. The striker is at the heart of everything that is good about Madrid and really stands out in a fantastic team.

The 23-year-old was named Champions League player of the year after scoring six goals in the competition – including the all-important final winner against Dortmund.

Many believe that he should win the Ballon d'Or for his efforts, highlighting how talented he is. If he is crowned, he will be the first Brazilian to win since Kaka won in 2007.

Federico Valverde vs Man City

Federico Valverde's volley against Manchester City in the quarter-final of the Champions League wasn't too bad. The midfielder proved to be reliable in defense and a huge threat in attack, embodying everything that Madrid strives to be.

Valverde's shot, followed by Vinicius' cross, ended an exciting 10 minutes against City as both sides were suddenly level. The ball flew into the bottom corner and ended up helping Madrid advance in the competition as they advanced to the second leg and were eliminated.

The perfect goal and the most powerful shot, Valverde deserves all the flowers for this technical strike.

Madrid's clash with Bayern Munich brought all the excitement of that famous semi-final between the two in 2012, but had the added bonus of a victorious finish against the Spanish giants.

Joselu's last two goals took Madrid to the Champions League final, knocking the dominant German side out of the competition. Carlo Ancelotti's side were trailing, however in true Madrid style they dug deep to get the win and exploit the gaps in Thomas Tuchel's side.

It was a stunning display from the La Liga side, who played a thrilling game while also putting aside the possibility of an all-German final at Wembley.

Jude Bellingham

So would Jude Bellingham.

In his first season in Madrid, Bellingham registered 23 goals in 42 games – a remarkable achievement for any player, let alone a midfielder.

The 20-year-old allows Madrid to play with style, boasting the ability to set the pace on the pitch and pass with ease and precision. His maturity and attitude are second to none, and while Bellingham's first season has been spectacular, the true impact of his move to Madrid will only be measured in the coming seasons.

Bellingham embodies a future legend, and is already considered one of the best players in the world. With Kylian Mbappe's move to Madrid confirmed for next season, it's scary to think what they could achieve together.

Antonio Rudiger was not expected to feature much in the 2023/24 season, but after an injury struck Eder Militao, the defender became one of the most important players on the pitch.

Rudiger handled the expectations well and quickly reminded any doubters why he is one of the most feared defenders around.

The highlight was focused on him during Madrid's penalty shoot-out against Manchester City, when the German made the decisive move. His efforts secured Madrid a place in the semi-finals, and Rudiger an influential place in the team.

Dani Ceballos

Dani Ceballos has been a forgettable player in a packed Madrid squad and has really struggled to make an impact in their recent campaign.

In previous seasons he was a quality option in midfield, but now Ceballos is not much of a helper and has made 27 appearances in all competitions. He has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2027, but it is not known if Madrid will still try to part with the 27-year-old this summer.

When he does get time on the pitch, Ceballos often looks lackluster and unable to keep up with those around him.
