Jared Anderson is now training with SugarHill Steward, preparing for his biggest test against the battle-tested Martin Bakole on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Can SugarHill convert Anderson?

It's questionable what SugarHill can do for Anderson unless the idea is to make him a mauler, like he did with Tyson Fury. That's what stands out the most that SugarHill seems to have added to Fury's game since he took over as his coach.

I don't think it will work on 240+ lb Anderson because he doesn't have the weight of 270+ lb Fury to lean on his opponents and wear down their legs. The style taught by SugarHill Fury is too light to work against quality heavyweights.

Fury's only wins since taking over from SugarHill as trainer have been against top heavyweights like Derek Chisora, Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte. Those are not top fighters.

Jared Faces a Battle Tested by Bakole

Undefeated Top-Rank promoted heavyweight Jared Anderson (17-0, 15 KOs) needs a lot of work to defeat Bakole (20-1, 15 KOs) because this is the best fighter he has faced. during his five-year career.

It is understandable why Top Rank put Anderson in Bakole because this is the best way to find out if he is worth staying around to continue his development.

Jared's fighting style is not fun. He fights in a Shakur-esque, safe style that fans don't enjoy watching. He was no match for Charles Martin and Ryad Merhy.

In the Martin fight, Anderson was about to be knocked out in the final seconds of the contest when he let his guard down and started celebrating.

If Anderson faces Bakole, Top Rank must decide whether to keep him around or release him to focus on his other heavyweight prospects.
