Chart Hills unveils new par-3 course – Golf News

Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent has launched the latest phase of its ongoing investment plans with the opening of a new six-hole par-3 course and a new practice putting green, both designed by Sir Nick Faldo.

With holes from 50 to 100 yards, the 'Loop' is a six-hole course at the front of the driving range, offering golfers a unique and challenging experience, perfect for honing their short game skills and having fun before or after a round of golf. .

In addition, a new 668 square meter practice putting green is also open for use by members and guests. Next to the original bowl, this putt draws inspiration from Sir Nick Faldo's favorite green sites, including his own 'Valley of Sin', as well as drawing inspiration from Muirfield Village and Augusta.

A 4-ball can play The Loop in less than half an hour, and the course offers six par-3s between 50 and 100 yards. Large greens offer a variety of pin positions.

The Loop is perfect for players of all levels who want to sharpen their playing, while the large greens will provide excellent practice.

Elsewhere, as part of the next phase of improvements to the championship course designed by Faldo, all 18 holes have recently benefited from an extensive renovation of the tee boxes.

Repairs involved stripping the tee boxes off the ground, leveling them, adding extra drainage where needed and replacing the tees. The result is 72 transparent boxes that can withstand foot traffic and weather all year round.

The renovation includes replacing all the markers, now named based on their yardage, with 71 tees representing the 7,100-yard course, followed by 66, 61 and 55, which must be selected based on play. skill and distance each golfer can hit the ball.

All fairways on the Championship course have been lowered and resurfaced with new turf and new drainage, while the tees are now numbered according to the course's total yardage, with a '66', which is a 6,600-yard course from the purple tees. , while 71 refers to the back tees, taking the course up to 7,100 yards

The club has also announced further investment, which will include its first on-site accommodation, which will offer luxury suites for living and playing and wedding parties. The Barn at Chart Hills, just a short walk from the main clubhouse, will offer five bedrooms of luxurious, boutique-style accommodations for up to 10 guests and will open later this year.

“We are proud to introduce new services including The Loop. It is the result of a period of intensive group work. The fact that it has been well received is exciting,” said General Manager, Anthony Tarchetti.

“We are equally excited to present the latest development plans here at Chart Hills, as investment continues as we strive to create the best facilities for members, guests and visitors. Since 2019, Chart Hills has undergone a complete transformation, and under our ownership it will only continue into the future.”

“This project enhances the fine details of the course that golfers love and appreciate, as well as encouraging golfers to play on fairways that best suit their abilities, improving the playing experience for everyone” added Tarchetti.
