Conor Gallagher talks Chelsea future between Spurs & Villa links

Conor Gallagher insists he is focused solely on helping England at the European Championships this summer amid growing speculation he could leave the club.

Despite being a key player for the Blues last season and wearing the captain's armband on numerous occasions, Gallagher has been linked with Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Tottenham this summer.

Chelsea are understood to be struggling to stay in line with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Regulations and are currently at risk of joining Everton and Nottingham Forest as the latest club to have their points stripped.

However, the West Londoners have a number of domestic players on their books, which if sold, would represent a net profit, including the likes of Levi Colwill, Armando Broja and, of course, Gallagher.

Gallagher remains focused on the England job

Gallagher has traveled to Germany as part of Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024 and will battle with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kobbie Mainoo for a starting midfield role.

England fans will be hoping that Gallagher is not too distracted by the current reports about his future, especially as the Three Lions open their campaign against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday.

The 24-year-old was happy about his transfer at a press conference on Thursday but insisted he was only thinking about helping England at the Euros.

“I'm a Chelsea player at the moment and I'm thinking about England and the tournament,” Gallagher told reporters (via BBC Sport).

“It's not difficult. I left England and I couldn't be happier with where I am.

“I have been focusing on England. This is the most important thing right now for me and for the country.

“I hope that I can help the team a lot on the field in this tournament.”
