Andrew Robertson admitted that Scotland did not arrive as they were defeated 5-1 by Germany in their first match of Euro 2024.
The Tartan Army failed to lay a glove on the home side throughout the encounter at the Allianz Arena, with Ryan Porteous' red card in the first half adding to the woes.
Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz put Germany 3-0 up at the break as Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can found the net after the break, Antonio Rudiger's goal the only consolation for Steve Clarke's men.
The Scotland captain told ITV Sport: “The first half we did everything wrong.
We didn't really show up, we weren't aggressive enough, we allowed good players too much time on the ball.
“It is clear that we had a game plan and we finally did it and their plan worked and ours was possible. But it wasn't for [lack of] practice, we didn't put it together on the field.
“He didn't really show up. I wasn't aggressive enough”

It's a reminder of how tough this competition is. He plays against world class teams and he showed that today.
“Their big players showed up and played well all over the park and made it difficult for us. They had an answer for everything we had.
“But I don't think we played our way and you have to face the top teams.”
'We have to fix it quickly'
The Liverpool left-back could not hide his disappointment in Munich but insisted that he and his team-mates must calm down quickly before facing Switzerland on Tuesday.
Robertson knows that they will still have the support of the fans, who have played their part in creating a positive atmosphere in the German capital.
He went on to say: “We are well supported in this competition, we know that. We have very good supporters and today was very disappointing.
“But you're playing against the host nation and it's the first game and it doesn't get much tougher than that.
“We have to quickly go back because there was a lot that went wrong today and we have to fix it because we have a quick change on Tuesday. [vs Switzerland].”
'I was surprised by Scotland'
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said he did not expect his team to win so comfortably after talking about Scotland's threat before the game.
He said: “I am happy, I am satisfied, it is not easy to have the first game in our country.
“We were doing well in the first 20 minutes, I'm happy with the performance.
“We agreed but in the end it's okay, it's a good sign that our players are crying about being released.
“I was surprised that Scotland were not violent in the first 20 minutes. I think they were surprised by our handling of the ball, it was very focused.
“Then they defended deep and didn't press like they do in qualifying games sometimes.”
