An old six-round video of Gervonta 'Tank' Davis and Devin Haney, showing their famous fight at the Mayweather Boxing Gym, was released today.
It looks like Tank Davis wasn't taking it seriously until the last half, when he ran through Haney, who needed to be rescued. Poor Tank is fighting two people inside the ring, Haney and Floyd Mayweathier Jr. It was wrong.
The last part of the sparring video had already been released, but not the first rounds, where Haney was getting the better of the action. Haney looked good early while Tank closed and played possum.
The tank looked calm for the first half of the sparring session, but something inside snapped; he went for the kill, killing Haney in the last few rounds.

What was interesting was that Mayweather seemed to be acting as Haney's coach and referee while encouraging him. When Tank opened it, Haney was agitated. He had no competition, and it was obvious that if this was a real fight, it would end suddenly, like yesterday's fight between Gervonta and Frank Martin.
The sparring doesn't mean anything because it's been a long time, and both of them put their heads together. Haney looked good while Tank closed the first few rounds, but when he turned it on like a switch, it was a lane.
You can see from some of the shots that Tank landed on that Haney would have been taken out if it was a real fight.

With Haney losing his final battle with his rock career, a steamy video of him with Tank Davis means zero.
It won't make fans interested in paying to see a fight between them because Haney's popularity has declined since his loss to Ryan Garcia last April. That defeat destroyed Haney's credibility, and fans now consider him the weakest link in the 140.
Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) needs to try to bounce back from his loss with a mandatory WBA light welterweight title defense against Sandor Martin unless he wants to relinquish his belt, which he may do if he has trouble getting down to it. 140.
