Golf course operator Link Golf UK has added Tapton Park Golf Course in Derbyshire to its growing portfolio of venues in England.
Tapton Park, originally opened in 1934, is set on the site of a mature park near Chesterfield which served as the grounds of Tapton House. Amenities in the area include an 18-hole, par-72 course; 9-hole, par-34; 6-hole pitch & putt course; 14-bay floodlit range and 6,750 square foot clubhouse.
Tapton Park is owned by Chesterfield Borough Council which offered a 25-year operating lease when it was first brought to the market in October last year by HMH Golf & Leisure.
Links Golf UK, formerly known as Love Golf UK, was first established in 2019 when it saved Marland Golf Course in Rochdale, and in 2020 it saved Heaton Park in Manchester. So far this year it has already taken on jobs at Stanley Park in Blackpool and Little Links Golf in Lytham St Annes in Lancashire. Each site operates as a Public Interest Company and Link Golf UK says it is focused on reviving and reproducing public golf courses for future generations.

We look forward to working closely with Chesterfield Borough Council and the residents' members' club to ensure a bright and prosperous future for this beloved community asset. “
Councilor Jonathan Davies, Chesterfield Borough Council's cabinet member for health and living, said: “Tapton Park Golf Course is an important facility with great talent in beautiful parkland. Link Golf UK has proven expertise and experience in operating municipal golf courses. It has invested in the Tapton courses and clubhouse to keep them in good condition. It also offers a strong community engagement program – and a commitment to working closely with the resident members' club, which I know the members welcome.”
Link Golf UK will take over operations at Tapton Park on July 1.
