Morgan Gibbs-White is likely to join Newcastle over Tottenham

Morgan Gibbs-White is set to leave Nottingham Forest this summer and Newcastle are reportedly the club best placed to sign the talented midfielder.

The 24-year-old has been at the City Ground since 2022 for £42.5m from Wolves.

The Englishman has played a lot for Forest and has developed into the club's best player. Gibbs-White has made 37 Premier League appearances this season, scoring five goals and assisting a further 10. This has played a big part in Nottingham Forest's staying power, but could it be the player's last campaign at the City Ground?

Forest are one of the top six clubs who need to sell players before June 30 to satisfy the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, which could lead to them parting ways with Gibbs-White.

Newcastle and Tottenham are two clubs interested in the 24-year-old, and journalist Dean Jones believes the Magpies are likely to sign the midfielder ahead of their North London Premier League rivals.

The Nottingham Forest star could be a great addition to Eddie Howe's squad and the Magpies boss will take his game to the next level.

Newcastle are “best placed” to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest this summer

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones gave an update on Gibbs-White's future and said Newcastle are leading the way to sign the 24-year-old talent.

“Doubts continue to linger at Nottingham Forest and my opinion is that if he leaves, Newcastle are the best place to sign him,” said the journalist.

“Spurs are being linked with him but I have heard whispers in Newcastle about this which makes me a little bit part of them being the favorites at the beginning.

“He would be an interesting player in the Newcastle team, a good player to have, coming in behind Isak.

“We know that Newcastle's priority is to get a right-back but I will still be watching Gibbs-White and how his situation starts to open up.”
