Scotland captain Robertson says Switzerland draw 'very similar to us'
Andy Robertson was delighted with Scotland's much-improved display as they kept their Euro 2024 campaign alive with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland.
Scotland got their first point on the board, fighting for an equalizer after Xherdan Shaqiri canceled out Scott McTominay's goal in Cologne.
The tournament started with the Tartan Army beating Germany 5-1 in their first match and captain Robertson was quick to praise his teammates.
The Liverpool defender told BBC Sport: “[It was] very much like us, very much like us. Aggressive, on the front foot, couldn't have started better.
“We made a mistake but he doesn't make a mistake about it, Tony Ralston was unbelievable after that mistake. The second part, he had different sections.
“We had opportunities but they also got them. We were very happy with that performance.
“We're going to take it as a draw and we've put it into the final game and that's all we can ask for.”
FULL TIME: Scotland 1-1 Switzerland.
A goalless second half sees the points awarded to Köln.

All eyes on Sunday
Sunday's match against Hungary looks to be a must-win for third place, which paves the way to the last 16.
Hungary are without a point so far and Robertson is determined to raise their standards ahead of the crucial tournament.
The 30-year-old added: “We have to go again on Sunday because that's our big game now.
“We can take a lot of positives from tonight but we can also improve a little bit and improve a lot and that's a good thing.
“We have to sleep now and recover. Come Sunday we will be ready to go with the funding we have.”

'We're in a good place'
Billy Gilmour was one of two changes made by Steve Clarke and the Brighton midfielder was heavily involved in McTominay's opener, releasing Roberton with a clever flick.
And the 23-year-old admitted that the drawn Tartan Army are now in a better place ahead of the final game.
He said: “We have given everything there is. We knew we had to bounce back after the last performance and it puts us in a good position.
“We are a good team. We know our strengths. Tonight it was like playing in Scotland.
“Following football, I have passion – everything was there.”
