Golf Business News – Roe Park Resort is being offered for sale
Roe Park Resort, a four-star resort on the outskirts of Limavady in Northern Ireland, has been listed for sale for £14 million.
Named the Best Golf Resort in Ulster in the Golfers Guide to Ireland 2024 awards, Roe Park has been independently managed since opening in 1995.
Over the past three years, the popular venue has seen a £3 million investment in its wedding and event facilities, golf course, refurbishment of bedrooms and the development of a third self-catering property – the Gate Lodge.
Speaking for Roe Park Resort, Chairman of the Board Alan Wilton said: “Roe Park Resort holds a very special place in our hearts, and we are very proud of the successful and sustainable business it is today. After nearly 30 years, the directors believe it is now time for new owners to take over and see the resort flourish into the future.”
A 118-bedroom property in 150 acres on the edge of Roe Valley Country Park, it was once an 18th-century manor house and the site of the first electricity to be introduced in Ireland. The historic house has been beautifully restored and along with the original coach house and boarding gate, gives Roe Park Resort its unique charm.
As well as having 118 bedrooms, an 18-hole golf course, driving range/golf school, spa, two award-winning restaurants, bars and a health club, Roe Park has three self-catering properties with planning permission sought for the development of a further 11 units. self-catering.
Roe Park not only offers a PGA-standard 18-hole, 5,154m parkland course, but is also very close to some of the world's legendary links courses on the Northern Ireland coast. This includes Royal Portrush Golf Club, which will host the Open again in 2025 following a very successful tournament in 2019 which saw almost 240,000 visitors attend the event.
