Argentina Fans Should Accept Man City, Inter Milan Duo Without Controversy

Argentina started the 2024 Copa América on a high note, with a 2-0 win over Canada. The goals came from Julián Álvarez of Manchester City and Lautaro Martínez of Inter Milan.

However, with both strikers scoring, the question now is which of the two players manager Lionel Scaloni will use to start the crucial game. The Manchester City standout played 76 minutes and three shots in total in the competition.

Meanwhile, Martínez came on as a substitute and 14 minutes in while recording two shots on target. While the debate may start, TyC Sport's Ernesto Provitilo writes that Argentina fans shouldn't argue about which player should start in the No.9 spot.

Instead, Provitilo wants those who are watching The Albiceleste happy to have these two talented players.

“Argentina has two of the best players in the world, and there is no question about their talent,” wrote Provitilo. “In their first game in the Copa América, it is the first time that both have scored a goal in the same game. They complement each other rather than replace each other.

“If there is no conflict between them or Sceloni, why are they silent? There is no need to overthink it; it might make for great TV or broadcast content, fill air time, or be entertaining in casual conversation. But it makes no sense to take it seriously.”

Argentina's next game in the Copa América will be Tuesday against Chile at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It will be interesting to see if Scloni goes with Álvarez as the starter or if he gives Martínez the start.
