Boxing results: Rafael Espinoza Stops Sergio Chirino
WBO World Featherweight Champion Rafael Espinoza in his first defense, stopped No. 2 ranked Sergio Chirino in the fourth round on Friday night at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

In this match WBO Inter-Continental Super Featherweight champion Andres “Savage” Cortes won a unanimous decision over Abraham “El Super” Nova to fight for the vacant NABO Junior Lightweight belt.
In the WBO World Featherweight Championship, the much taller Rafael Espinoza, 25-0 (21), stopped number 2 Sergio Chirino, 22-2 (13), at 2:45 of the fourth round of 12 rounds.
Espinoza chased Chirino into the ring in the first round, took it easy and dropped him with 8 counts by referee Raul Caiz, Jr. in the last seconds. In the second round the last seconds of a right followed by a left to the body and down Chirino in the 8 count of Referee Caiz, Jr.
In the final seconds of the fourth round, a right uppercut from Espinoza dropped Chirino, prompting referee Caiz, Jr. stop.
In the next match, WBO No. 2 ranked Andres Cortes, 22-0 (12), won a decision against Abraham 'El Super' Nova, 23-3 (16) 10 rounds, claiming the vacant NABO Junior Lightweight title.
In the first two rounds, Nova had a slight edge. In the third round, Nova continued to outbox Cortes. In the fourth round, Cortes got aggressive, had a good round.
In the fifth and sixth rounds, Cortes worked the body well. In the eighth round, Nova had a good round to the body.
In the ninth round, Nova had his best fight, taking it to Cortes and driving him to the ropes. In the tenth and final round Nova seemed to pull it off but you don't know in Vegas.
Scores were 97-93 twice and 96-94 Cortes and 96-94 Nova KH. The referee was Robert Hoyle.
2021 Olympian Troy Isley, 13-0 (5), defeated southpaw Javier Martinez, 10-1-1 (3), empty NABO Middle title over 10 rounds filled with bad times.
In the first round, Martinez used an effective jab from the southpaw. In the final seconds, Isley drove Martinez into the corner. They were separated in the four wars of the uneducated, they knew each other well. In the second round, Isley outboxed Martinez for the most part.
Referee Tony Weeks warned Isley in the third round for a low blow. Isley came back well. In the fourth round, again, Isley was warned for a low blow, although he controlled the fight for the most part.
In the sixth round, Martinez made a good comeback until the final seconds, when Isley landed a solid chinlock, possibly stealing the round. In the seventh round, referee Weeks appeared to allow Isley to be warned for low blows without taking a point.
In the eighth round, Martinez retaliated with a low blow. The action continued throughout the round. In the ninth round, after twenty seconds, Referee Weeks finally took away a point from Isley. Martinez ended up powering two.
In the tenth and final round, Isley outclassed Martinez with body work that was low at times, but both did borderline work.
Scores were 97-91 twice and 96-92.
Bantam Floyd 'Cashflow' Diaz, 12-0 (3), defeated Francisco Pedroza, 18-12-2 (10) over 8 solid rounds.
In the first two rounds in the final minutes, Diaz, his better hand speed allowed him to get the better of Pedroza.
In the final minute of the fourth round, Diaz landed several rights to the chin. Pedroza returned with his own right. In the final seconds, Diaz, coming to the right, sent Pedroza back a few steps to the ropes.
Pedroza was counting well in the fifth round, but Diaz landed the first punch every time. Referee Mike Ortega took a point from Pedroza with a stoppage in the sixth round.
This made Pedroza aggressive, trying to make up for the loss of points.
In the seventh round, Diaz landed left hooks and Pedroza hung in there, landing his punches. In the eighth and final round, it all came down to the last minute when Pedroza began to pull away and not consolidate, handing the round to Diaz.
The score was 78-73 by all three judges.
Super Feather southpaw Demier Zamora, lll, 13-0 (9) defeated Jose “Pepao' Antonio Meza, 9-9-1nc (2), over 8 solid rounds.
In the first two rounds, southpaw Zamora continued to pressure Meza. As he came from the history of the Philippines, Zamora seemed to be a natural, like many from the islands.
Meza finally started punching in the third round when Zamora took a beating.
In the fourth and fifth rounds, Zamora passed Meza, but his face began to swell under both eyes due to Meza's lead.
In the seventh round, the left side of Meza's face was marked well by Zamora, and Meza countered well at times. In the eighth and final round, both had their moments, where Zamora closed.
The referee was Raul Caiz, Jr. Scores were 80-72 twice and 79-73.
Super Fly southpaw Steven Navarro, 2-0 (1), defeated Juan Pablo Meza, 7-4 (2), over 6 rounds of action.
In the first round, both fighters threw grenades. Navarro suffered swelling out of his left eye from Meza's rights. This was Navarro's second fight, both six rounds.
In the second round, the match continued as southpaw Navarro returned with uppercuts and Meza fired back but went out and landed.
In the third round, Navarro switched timings and went orthodox with both landing punches, a few that slipped. Another round of Navarro. In the fourth round, a bit between each other is a slugfest.
In the fifth round in the last minute, Navarro threw half punches that were not returned by Meza. In the sixth and final round Navarro bled from Meza's mouth and suffered swelling under his left eye in the first minute of the orthodox fight.
The fight action never slowed down, and both fighters gave the fans their money's worth. Referee Robert Hoyle had an easy night.
The total score was 60-54.
South middleweight Bryan 'The Hunter' Polaco, 7-0 (5), stopped Richard Acevedo, 6-1-1 (5), at 2:51 of the third round, dropping him three times in the scheduled 6 rounds.
In the second round, with twenty seconds remaining, the tall southpaw Polaco dropped Acevedo with a left to the chin, dropping him to an 8 count from referee Mike Ortega.
Twenty seconds into the third round, Polaco dropped Acevedo with a lead left to the chin at the 8 count of Referee Ortega.
After one minute of the round again, Polaco dropped Acevedo with a left to the chin. Acevedo had an injury under his left eye. Polaco decided to call it quits and kept up the pressure before referee Ortega ended up stopping the final ten seconds for a disqualification.
