Arsenal star's father hits out at international boss
The father of Arsenal star Leandro Trossard has criticized the Belgium national team coach and defended his son.
Despite being considered the 'golden generation' of Belgian football, the current crop of players have failed to reach their potential on the world stage.
This increased more than before during the World Cup in 2022 when they were eliminated from the competition in the group stage finishing third while there was disagreement among the squad members.
With that 'golden generation' now fading into obscurity, the pressure was on for the tournament, especially after losing their tournament opener against Slovakia.
Despite going on to win their match against Romania on Saturday, Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco was heavily criticized before the match by Trossard's father.
“Leandro is criticized, but he was moved from one position to another, it is difficult to keep a guide in your game in these situations,” he said in an interview with De Morgen.
“I don't think Tedesco is a good coach for Belgium, even if he doesn't have the stubbornness of Roberto Martinez.”
The Arsenal winger was sent off in the 2-0 win over Romania, coming off the bench in the 56th.th a minute.
