Adilson da Silva claimed his sixth Legends Tour title at Seapoint Golf Links winning the OFX Irish Legends after three holes of drama with Sweden's Patrik Sjöland.
Paul Lawrie led by two shots going into the final day, however, and dropped a shot on the second hole when his playing partner Patrik Sjöland made birdie. Three more birdies apiece in his pair before the turn would ensure he moved to the back nine for a share of the lead and set up a battle down the stretch.
A double-bogey seven on the tenth hole would see him out of the top spot though, needing to dislodge Sjöland – as the Swede made the difference to take a two-shot lead.
The chasing pack were trying to apply pressure where they could on a bright, but windy day in County Louth. Mikael Lundberg has recorded two third-place finishes on the Legends Tour already this season, in Barbados and Greece, and was in the same spot through 13 holes in his final round in Ireland as he went 4-under-par on the day. . He would take one more shot in his round of 68 to get to -5 for the week.
Angel Cabrera, who won last week on the Legends Tour, was in mid-par before making birdies on three of his next four holes.
He will end up signing a Saturday 67 that will close the week at 6.
Defending champion, Peter Baker, endured a mixed day on the course – a front 9 that included an eagle, two birdies, one bogey and a double-bogey! He would shoot a final round of 69 and finish with a 6.

Paul Lawrie left himself strong up and down to finally reach the same target. He would have given himself a chance for birdie – however, his putt from 12 meters drifted to the right edge and he would have to settle for a final day 73, ending the tournament at -6.
Patrik Sjöland reached the final green on the front edge, knowing that going up and down would secure the title. He would hold his clock low and two putt to match Da Silva's score only to enter the playoff with his round of 70 to move to 7.
Two of them will make the par-5 18thth at the first time of asking, Da Silva missed an 8-foot putt to win, while on the second attempt both men hit the same advertising banner with their shots. From the tight, knee-deep difficulty both played impressive shots, Da Silva came close, but both had two putts and were back on 18.th tee for the third attempt to get the winner.
It was third time lucky for Brazilian Adilson da Silva in Ireland – as he holed a 12-foot putt for birdie at the extra third to seal victory.
He said: “It's like, wow, everything happened so quickly! It's nice to win again. I've been training hard, sometimes the game keeps knocking you down and we start to feel that as players, and you think there's something wrong with you.
“This week they had to take care of themselves, it was a difficult game for everyone. I was hanging in there for the first nine and the back nine things felt like they came.”
