Everton defender Ashley Young has extended his stay at the club after signing a new one-year contract.
The 38-year-old will stay at Goodison Park until the summer of 2025 and is available to help Sean Dyche's side in the Premier League.
Young was the head coach's first signing when he arrived in 2023 and is the team's oldest player at 38 years and 34 days.
He made 34 appearances in all competitions last season and has 39 international caps.
This talented athlete is an important part of the team and his leadership and experience have been key in difficult times for the team.
Young says it was a “no-brainer” to sign the contract and describes the atmosphere in the dressing room as the best he has experienced.
Speaking to evertontv he said: “I spoke to the manager before the end of the season.

“He asked me what I wanted to do, if I wanted to stay, I just agreed because I like my time here. Kevin [Thelwell] it was the same.
“The size of the Club, the staff, the players and, of course, the fans, who have done so well… I loved my time here last season. We have had some difficult times but I can see how big the Club is and where the Club wants to go.
“I put it up there with the best dressing rooms I've ever been in, with a great team spirit.
“There is a responsibility there. You can tell that the players have been here, the players who have played under the manager, the players who know the Club – just a real connection. Everyone is very cooperative, not only the players but also the staff.
“I already said about two months before the start of the season that if there is an opportunity to stay for a long time, I will do it because it is a good place to be.”
Dyche added: “We are delighted to secure Ashley's future next season.
“His qualities – on and off the pitch – mean he was an important figure for us.
“He is someone I have had the pleasure of knowing for many years and his extensive knowledge, leadership and versatility will undoubtedly help us again when we enter next season.”
