A tough loss for Eubanks, who dropped 20 places in the ATP live rankings to No.62 – the American will have to defend his 360 points in the quarterfinals next week at Wimbledon.
Mensik, currently ranked 85th, had to withdraw from Roland-Garros due to a back injury. He has had an impressive season on tour so far in 2024, and reached his first ATP final in Doha in February, where he defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev and Gael Monfils to reach the final.
The Czech will turn 19 on September 1.
Speaking of Monfils, the Frenchman advanced to the quarterfinals in Mallorca, with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Roberto Carballes Baena. He will face Roberto Bautista Agut in the quarterfinals in Mallorca. Mensik will face Fabio Fognini in the second round on Wednesday.
