Marseille preferred over Lyon and Everton

Newcastle United's young player Yankuba Minteh is reportedly set to join Marseille if he is to move to Ligue 1 this summer.

The highly-rated young striker, who impressed on loan at Feyenoord, has also been heavily linked with Lyon and Everton in the past few days.

However, reports from France now say that Minteh himself would prefer to go to Marseille if he ends up switching to French football.

Marseille appear to have some interest in Minteh, although Lyon and Everton may be more advanced in their pursuit of the 19-year-old by now.

Things could change, however, if Marseille come in strong, as Minteh is said to have an old love for OM.

Former Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi has recently taken over as Marseille manager and that will be an important thing for Minteh, as it would be tempting to work under the Italian tactician, who excelled at developing young players during his time with the club. Seagulls.

We will have to wait and see what happens with this deal, but Newcastle are known to be willing to let Minteh go for a reasonable fee.

However, one imagines that the Magpies would rather let the talented youngster go abroad than to a Premier League rival.
