Spurs have a 'significant interest' in the Premier League striker

Spurs are keen to sign a new striker this summer.

The Lilywhites are yet to replace Harry Kane after he joined Bayern Munich this time last year.

Ange Postecoglou spent last season assembling his front three which includes Son Heung-min, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Saudi-linked Richarlison. However, determined to return Son to his preferred left-wing position, the no-nonsense Aussie has made it a priority to sign a new number nine.

The London-based giants have been linked with a pursuit of Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke following his impressive campaign which saw him score 19 goals from 37 Premier League starts.

Spurs make a move for Brentford's Ivan Toney

The Cherries' asking price of £65 million has stalled negotiations, however, forcing chairman Daniel Levy to voice further interest, and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Spurs are now showing a 'strong interest' in Brentford's Ivan Toney.

Spurs are interested in signing Ivan Toney.

The 28-year-old, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract, is expected to leave the Bees this summer.

Having spent most of last season suspended following a betting-related conviction, Toney, who was part of England's squad that reached the finals of the EUROs this summer, is looking to revive his career as he sets his sights high.

And while most of the league's top clubs have been linked at some point in the summer window, it now looks like Spurs are the front runners for the Englishman's signature.

In his four years at the Community Stadium, Toney, who is represented by the leading organization CAA Stellar, has scored 72 goals and registered 23 assists in 141 games in all competitions.
